Scheduling a Weekly Scan

To configure a weekly scan:

1. Click Manage from the Scheduling tab of the Settings window. A dialog box prompts to schedule a scan task (see Figure 9).

2. Select Weekly from the Schedule Task drop-down list.

3. To schedule a Start time:

  • Select the hour and use the up and down arrows to change the number.
  • Select the minutes and use the up and down arrows to change the number.
  • Select AM/PM and use the up/down arrows to change.

4. Click Advanced to configure Advanced Schedule Options (see Figure 10).

5. To add a start date, click the down arrow and use the calendar to select a date.

6. To add an end date, click the End Date checkbox. Click the down arrow and use the calendar to select a date.

7. Click Repeat task to configure how often to repeat the scan, if needed:

  • Select the amount of time between scans using the up and down arrows, and select minutes or hours from the drop-down list.
  • Click Until Time to stop the scan at a specific time. Select the hour and use the up and down arrows to change the number. Select the minutes and use the up and down arrows to change the number. Select AM/PM and use the up/down arrows to change.

    OR

    Click Duration and use the up and down arrows to indicate scan duration in hours and minutes.

  • Click If the task is still running, stop it at this time to terminate the scan if it’s still running after the Until Time or Duration passes.

8. Click OK to return to the scheduler.

9. To schedule the scan to run regularly, use the up and down arrows to increase or decrease the number of weeks between scans and select the day of the week on which the scan should run.

10. Click OK to save the changes. A dialog box prompts for the username and password of the account running the scan (see Figure 11).

11. Enter the username in the Run as field.

12. Enter the password in the Password field.

13. Enter the password again in the Confirm password field.

14. Click OK.

Scheduling a Monthly Scan

To schedule a monthly scan:

1. Click Manage from the Scheduling tab of the Settings window. A dialog box prompts to schedule a scan task (see Figure 12).

2. Select Monthly from the Schedule Task drop-down list.

3. To schedule a Start time

· Select the hour and use the up and down arrows to change the number.

· Select the minutes and use the up and down arrows to change the number.

· Select AM/PM and use the up/down arrows to change.

4. Click Advanced to configure Advanced Schedule Options (see Figure 13):

5. To add a start date, click the down arrow and use the calendar to select a date.

9. To schedule the monthly scan, click Day and use the up/down arrows to select the day of the month to run the scan.

 

OR

To schedule to the scan to run on a specific day of the month, click The and use the drop-down lists to select the first, second, third or fourth Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday of each month.

10. Click Select months to select specific months (see Figure 14).

11. Click OK to save the changes. A dialog box prompts for the username and password of the account running the scan (see Figure 15).

12. Enter the username in the Run as field.

13. Enter the password in the Password field.

14. Enter the password again in the Confirm password field.

15. Click OK.

Scheduling a One-Time Scan

To schedule a scan to occur once:

1. Click Manage from the Scheduling tab of the Settings window. A dialog box prompts to schedule a scan task (see Figure 16).

2. Select Once from the Schedule Task drop-down list.

3. To schedule a start time:

  • Select the hour and use the up and down arrows to change the number.
  • Select the minutes and use the up and down arrows to change the number.
  • Select AM/PM and use the up/down arrows to change.

4. Click Advanced to configure Advanced Schedule Options (see Figure 17):

11. Enter the username in the Run as field.

12. Enter the password in the Password field.

13. Enter the password again in the Confirm password field.

14. Click OK.

Scheduling a Scan to Run at Startup

To schedule a scan to run at startup:

1. Click Manage from the Scheduling tab of the Settings window. A dialog box prompts to schedule a scan task (see Figure 19).

2. Select At System Startup from the Schedule Task drop-down list.

3. Click OK. A dialog box prompts for the username and password of the account running the scan (see Figure 20).

4. Enter the username in the Run as field.

5. Enter the password in the Password field.

6. Enter the password again in the Confirm password field.

7. Click OK.

Scheduling a Scan to Run at Logon

To schedule a scan to run at logon:

1. Click Manage from the Scheduling tab of the Settings window. A dialog box prompts to schedule a scan task (see Figure 21).

2. Select At Logon from the Schedule Task drop-down list.

3. Click OK. A dialog box prompts for the username and password of the account running the scan (see Figure 22).

4. Enter the username in the Run as field.

5. Enter the password in the Password field.

6. Enter the password again in the Confirm password field.

7. Click OK.

Scheduling an Idle-Time Scan

To schedule a scan to run when the computer is idle for a specific amount of time:

1. Click Manage from the Scheduling tab of the Settings window. A dialog box prompts to schedule a scan task (see Figure 23).

2. Select When idle from the Schedule Task drop-down list.

3. Use the up and down arrows to increase or decrease the number of minutes the computer must be idle for a scan to be triggered.

4. Click OK to save the changes. A dialog box prompts for the username and password of the account running the scan (see Figure 24).

5. Enter the username in the Run as field.

6. Enter the password in the Password field.

7. Enter the password again in the Confirm password field.

8. Click OK.

Updating Multiple Scheduled Scans

To update the schedules of multiple scans:

1. Click Show multiple schedules from the scheduler dialog box (see Figure 25. Select the schedule from the drop-down list at the top of the dialog box.

2. Modify one or more schedules and click OK to save all the changes at one time.
