System Restore

The System Restore option displays the backups of registry that were made when registry errors were fixed.

1. Click Windows Tools or use the arrows to access the Windows Tools options.

2. Click System Restore. The Restore window displays (see Figure 24).

3. To restore the registry to an earlier working state, click an item and click Restore.

4. To remove an item from the list, click it and click Delete.

5. Click Refresh to refresh the list.

6. To view more details about a backup, select it and click Open.

7. Select the items to restore and click Restore.

8. Click Finished to return to the Restore window.

9. Click Finished to return to the Options menu.

System Information

Use the System Information option to view system configuration, such as operating system information, hardware, and components.

1. Click Windows Tools or use the arrows to access the Windows Tools options.

2. Click System Information. The Windows System Information window displays (see Figure 26).

3. Click the X in the upper right corner of the window to close it.

Local Users and Groups

Use the System Information option to manage user accounts and groups.

Note: This is a Windows program that is accessed by Registry Mechanic. Consult your Windows documentation for how to use this feature.

1. Click Windows Tools or use the arrows to access the Windows Tools options.

2. Click Local Users and Groups. The Windows Users and Groups window displays.

Note: This option is not available with Windows 7.

3. Click the X in the upper right corner of the window to close it.

Device Manager

Use the Device Manager option to manage your computer’s devices, such as keyboards and monitors. You can also view device properties and install drivers.

Note: This is a Windows program that is accessed by Registry Mechanic. Consult your Windows documentation for how to use this feature.

1. Click Windows Tools or use the arrows to access the Windows Tools options.

2. Click Device Manager. The Windows Device Manager displays (see Figure 27).

3. Click the X in the upper right corner of the window to close it.
